Americans and millions of people elsewhere around the world celebrate lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) pride during June.

The last 50 years have seen a tidal change in the way LGBTI people are treated under the law, from the days in 1969 when there was an uprising at a New York bar to the 2015 Supreme Court decision that recognized the legality of same-sex marriage.
